UpcycleMo's Story
Creating, inventing, recycling – I did that all throughout my childhood. When I was little, I was already using what I found to make toys”, explains Mohamed Khattou. That passion became a trade, and even a company, UpcycleMo, which transforms tires into trendy objects as well as into indoor and outdoor furniture. Although he began on his own, Khattou is proud that he now has four employees and two apprentices working in his workshop in Agadir. Moreover, he employs women from his village, El Maader El Kibir (beside Tiznit), for sewing, as well as tyre collectors and a carpenter with whom he has developed a collection where tyre and wood are merged into incredibly elegant furniture. Although the traditional word of mouth works perfectly, Khattou is also regularly contacted via email, Facebook and Instagram. His resellers in France and the Netherlands also help him to grow his sales.
